Rustaq is a town and a Wilayah in northern Oman's Al Batinah Region. The wilayah is located in the southern part of the Batinah, in the Western Hajar Mountains. During the time of Imam Nasir bin Murshid al Ya'arubi, Rustaq was the capital of Oman. One of the main occupations in Rustaq is beekeeping.
Al Rustaq is around 150 kilometers from Muscat; take the Batinah Highway from Muscat (which also leads to Musanda); once in Mussanah, turn left; and you'll be in Al Rustaq.
Al Hazm Castle and the majestic Al Rustaq Fort are two impressive and historically significant landmarks in Al Rustaq. There are three popular wadis to visit: Wadi Bani Ghafar, Wadi al-Sahtan and Wadi Bani Auf. There are also museum like Qasra museum and water pools.
